🎮 What the IIDX Tutorial Mode Is 🎮

The tutorial is an interactive, guided lesson mode built directly into the game. It’s designed for complete beginners, but it’s also useful for players transitioning from:

• 5-key beatmania

• Pop’n

• BMS / LR2 beginners

• Keyboard-only players learning turntable control

🧭 Structure of the Tutorial

The tutorial is step-by-step, and you can’t fail,  the game actively guides you.

1️⃣ Basic Controls

You’re taught:

• Which keys correspond to which lanes

• How the turntable works

• The difference between keys vs scratch

The game visually highlights:

• Which input to press

• When to press it

• What happens if you miss

2️⃣ Timing & Judgement

You’re introduced to:

• Note timing (early / late)

• The judgement line

• How accuracy affects score and gauge

The game slows things down and waits for you if needed.

3️⃣ Scratch-Specific Training

This is a big one for new players.

You learn:

• Single-direction scratches

• Timing scratches with keys

• How scratch notes differ from key notes

IIDX explicitly explains why scratches feel different, soemthing most players struggle with early on.

4️⃣ Gauge & Clear Conditions

The tutorial explains:

• Groove Gauge basics

• How misses affect survival

• What “clearing” a song actually means

This is something earlier IIDX versions never explained at all.

5️⃣ Guided Practice Song

You’re then walked through a real chart, but:

• Notes are simplified

• Visual cues remain

• The pace is controlled

It bridges the gap between “lesson” and “actual gameplay.”
