2HDBMS Event Download

2HDBMS

"2HDBMS" is a capacity limit event. "2HD" refers to a recording medium called 3.5-inch floppy disk media, which was active when BM98, the original bms, was the mainstream.
The capacity of a 3.5-inch floppy disk varies depending on the type, but the maximum recordable capacity is 1.44MB. This event is a bms event where only bms works that fit on a floppy disk, that is, 1.44MB can be exhibited.
A similar bms event of 1.44MB or less was held around 2004, but at that time narrowband Internet lines were still around. It was an era when lines that were slower than the speed of "after the communication speed was limited because the capacity was exceeded" were the mainstream. Also, at that time, the capacity of HDDs was small, and it was an era when you could buy 100GB for 10,000 yen. In the modern age of 2021, it is becoming commonplace to be able to buy 6TB at the same price.
Despite these restrictions, BMS works continued to bloat, and this was often seen as a problem.
In an era when such large-capacity BMS works became mainstream, low-capacity events were held regularly to let people know the goodness of low-capacity with good cost performance. It's about 14-15 years from now. I explained the old days for a long time, but the purpose of this event is not to "let people of the present age know the tough times back then." Compression technology is a necessary technology in various scenes, and the technology is evolving day by day. The old 1.44MB bms and the current 1.44MB bms are completely different if they are made differently.
The purpose of this event is to make full use of various compression technologies and see how much wonderful bms can be expressed with 1.44MB.
